Principal's Letter: March 2023

Dear Parents,

Re-Registration information was sent out last month. There are still a few families who have not responded as to whether their child(ren) will be returning next September for the 2023/2024 school year. Registration is now open to new families.

Also, if you know of someone who is interested in registering a child, please ask them to call the school office at 718-343-1346 for details on registering new students. Registration packets are available on the school website under the Admissions tab (https://olscafp.org/admissions/registration-guidelines/). We offer a monetary credit incentive for referrals to both the new and current student.

Help spread the Good News.

Tuition assistance may be available through Futures in Education.

Please see their website at https://futuresineducation.org/ for details and application.

In-person report card conferences and distribution will be Thursday, March 23, from 12:45–3:00pm and 6:30–8:30pm. All tuition, parent service fees, aftercare, morning care, etc., must be up to date in order to receive your child’s report card. As noted in our Parent-Student Handbook, eight (8) tuition payments are due by March 15. Any payments received after March 15 will not apply toward receipt of a report card on March 23. Please let the office know in writing by March 6 if there is a problem meeting the payment. The Parent Portal will open Wednesday, March 8 to make appointments via FACTS.

Thank you to those parents who volunteered during our Open House to provide tours to prospective new students and families to OLS. Thank you to all who provide their time and energy to moderate and organize events and fundraisers for our schools. Without your help we could not provide the extra-curricular activities for our children. Thank you again to our pastoral staff, administration, and community.

While we may be over the worst of the winter “sick” season, we remind everyone of our regular school safety and health protocols. Stay home if sick and wash hands often. Children who are out for 3 consecutive school days do require a physician’s note to return to school. Contact the school office if your child has tested positive for Covid.

As we prepare for the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter, our school community will focus on our manners, kindness and forgiveness. Over the next few weeks, our morning prayers will focus on these important life and faith lessons.

Respectfully,

Joseph Venticinque, Principal
