Principal’s Letter: April 2023

Dear Parents:

The Spring is always exciting at OLS. We have our last round of after-school clubs, and the OLS T-Ball team is ready for the Season! It’s going to be a busy time to June.

In our STEM month celebration, we will adopt tadpoles this year and watch them grow. In our STEM class students will learn about the “Life Cycle”. We are excited to see our amphibius friends and await the naming contest.

As Spring approaches, I remind all students as they go for haircuts that there are no mohawks, writing/images on hair or fad haircuts. Students should not have any non-natural coloring or hair dye in their hair at any time. Also for the young ladies, no artificial nails and only a light natural nail color finish is allowed. Make-up of any kind is not allowed.

Save the Date – The annual OLS Auction Night is back and will be a great night for all. Adults only. Spend a night out with family and friends. Enjoy some finger food and beverages. We have some great gift baskets with restaurant gift cards, hair salon gift certificates, wine basket, tickets to sport events and museums, autographed memorabilia. April 22 is the night for the fun. Gather a table of 10 adults and the entry price drops, plus receive N.U.T. cards and homework passes. Check the school website for the registration form and details.

I take this opportunity to thank all those who support OLS, giving of their time and talent, donating cans and boxes of food for the Human Concerns Center. Our monthly Human Concerns food donations help those in our Parish. We raised over $1,000 from our pajama day to purchase pajamas for those in the homeless shelter. These fundraisers not only support our community, but they teach our students to help those less fortunate than ourselves. This year especially, we are all blessed, and I realize it is a struggle for all of us, still you remember those in our community that are less fortunate.

Note the last days in June
June 15 – OLS Preschool Step-Up Ceremony
June 16 – 8th Grade and Kindergarten Graduation Ceremonies
June 21 – 3K for All Celebration and 4K for All Step-Up Ceremony
June 22 – Last day for 3K for All, 4K for All and Grades 1-7

We remember that Our Lord brings us together not for time off, but rather time together, to be together as a family. It is my hope that many of you find time for family throughout the time away from our normal schedules.

Rejoice in the Lord and have a Blessed Easter.

Respectfully,
Joseph Venticinque, Principal
