Celebrate with OLSCA
We have much to celebrate in our school this year because of the cooperation and support we give to one another. We hope to have a wonderful week where we celebrate all the extraordinary things, we do at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy. We thank you for your support and dedication to OLS. Our Diocesan-wide theme this year is “Igniting the Catholic Imagination.”

Sunday – January 29 – “IMAGINE A LIFE OF FAITH”

• 12:30pm Mass in Church followed by Open House in School. Please join us in the school for an in-person Open House from 1:45-3:00 PM.
• Please see our website for all of the Open Houses we are hosting.

Monday – January 30 –“IMAGINE BEING THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD”

• Charity Drive – Boots on the Ground NY
  We will be creating care packages that will be sent to our men and women serving overseas through the Boots on the Ground NY organization. Each class has been assigned a particular item for donation. Care packages will be made up of basic need items that our military has limited access to. Donations can be sent into school any day from Monday, January 30 through Friday, February 3.
• Poster Contest – a contest will be held highlighting this year’s theme of “Imagining a Better World”. Students will create art related to peace. “How can you be a better neighbor or friend?” Rules and guidelines will be discussed in Art Class. Our winner will receive a prize.

Tuesday – January 31 – “IMAGINE THE GIFT OF A CATHOLIC EDUCATION”

• Open House – Prospective families will have the opportunity to see our school and classrooms from 9:00am-11:00am and from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Our Principal, Mr. Venticinque will welcome everyone, and you will have the opportunity to see what we do live.
  • Spirit Day Part I
  Classes will participate in friendly competition during their gym classes. A Classes vs B Classes.

Wednesday – February 1 – “IMAGINE A LIFE OF SERVICE”

• Vocations and Service to God – Students will hear from our Priests and Sisters about their journey to serve God.
• Spirit Day Part II
  Classes will participate in friendly competition during their gym classes. A Classes vs B Classes.

Thursday – February 2 – “IMAGINE THE LIFE-LONG FRIENDS YOU ARE MAKING”

• Mini Bagels – Students will have a bagel breakfast. (Please contact your child’s teacher if you DO NOT want them to participate)
• Free Dress Down Day – wear your favorite Disney character shirt.
• No Tests Today and No Homework Tonight
• Game Show – Students will participate in a trivia game show in the BCH.

Friday- February 3 – “IMAGINE THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE IN A CHILD’S LIFE”

• Teacher Appreciation Day
• ½ Day of School for ALL
• Dollar Dress Down Day
• Human Concerns Food Collection
• Poster Contest Winner – Will be announced today.
