Early Childhood

We are excited to share that the 3-K and Pre-K applications are now available!

3-K: All NYC children born in 2019 can apply by the April 14, 2022 deadline. 3-K results will be available in June.

Pre-K: All NYC children born in 2018 can apply by the March 18, 2022 deadline.

Families can apply three ways:

  • Online at MySchools.nyc
  • Over the Phone by calling 718-935-2009
  • In Person by visiting a Family Welcome Center

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the DOE 3K/Pre-K for All program and the OLS hybrid 3 / 4-year-old program?

Our school now has a Department of Education 3K program for children that will be 3 years of age by Dec. 2021. This program is free. We also have Pre-K for All which is the DOE program for 4-year-olds. Your child must be 4 by December of 2021. Both programs are open to NYC residents and proof of address must be given to register. No religion is taught in this program.

For our Long Island residents, we have a 3 /4-year-old hybrid program where both 3- and 4-year-old students learn in the same classroom. This hybrid class meets the needs of students of both ages through differentiated instruction. This program is not free, it is tuition based and students learn about our Catholic faith.

Do you offer lunch?

DOE 3K and Pre-K for All students receive free lunch from our catering service. A menu is provided to families in case students prefer to bring lunch, which is also an option.

OLS 3 / 4-year-old program does not provide free lunch. We do offer hot lunch items for purchase. Families receive choices a month ahead and can purchase lunch for their children or bring their own lunch from home.

Does my Early Childhood student need a uniform?

Yes, ALL students at OLS in all programs must wear our school uniform that can be purchased from Flynn and O’Hara Uniforms https://flynnohara.com/. All students should also wear comfortable sneakers of your choice, for safety.

If my child is in one of the DOE programs at OLS, can we participate in any of the school events held throughout the year?

YES! We welcome everyone in our school community to join us in all events that take place at Snows.

Does my child need a physical exam or updated immunizations before school begins?

Yes. Your child must have a current physical exam and all immunizations must be up to date. Our school webpage has specific information and forms to help you. This is a very important step in your child’s registration at school. These requirements come from the Department of Health and must be strictly followed.

Please Note: The registration papers(for DOE programs) are only for families that have registered with MYSCHOOLS.NYC and have an offer for a seat to our program.
