Walk-A-Thon Date Set; Download Permission Form

Dear OLS Families,

We are very excited to announce our annual Walk-A-Thon on Friday, April 24, 2026. Over the past several years, our Walk-A-Thon has continued to be a tremendous success thanks to your ongoing generosity and support. Last year, we were proud to raise over $22,000, which allowed us to successfully install air conditioning units in every classroom. This has made a meaningful difference in the comfort and learning environment for our students and staff, and we are incredibly grateful. As always, 100% of the funds raised go directly back to benefit our students.

This year, we are excited to focus on enhancing our outdoor spaces to provide students with more opportunities for safe, active play. Our goal is to extend and fully fence in our existing playground by an additional 100 feet, creating a safer environment while allowing more classes to use the space at the same time. We also hope to purchase new equipment to support this expanded play area, giving students more options for recreation and physical activity throughout the school day.

In addition, we are planning improvements to the large parking lot on Union Turnpike by transforming it into a multi-use play space. This includes painting hopscotch and other games on the blacktop, as well as partnering with CYO to add a track around the perimeter that can be used by both our physical education classes and CYO programs. Our fundraising goal for this year is $22,000, and with your continued support, we are confident we can reach it and continue to improve our school environment for all of our students.

Attached is a pledge form for you and your child to record pledge amounts from family & friends. If every student participates, we can raise over $15,000 just from the minimum donation alone. This shows how impactful full participation can be in helping us reach our goal.

The minimum to participate is $55 for 1 student, $65 for 2 students, $75 for 3 students, which includes 1 walk-a-thon t-shirt for each student, 1 free homework pass for each student, and 1 raffle entry per student. Raffles will include Dress Down Passes, Ice Cream Party (top class), Free Week of Hot Lunches, and other surprise gifts as students walk.

Students are encouraged to participate and raise more than the minimum to participate. (We will accept funds through April 24.) Families who raise more than the minimum to participate will be entered into a raffle drawing which includes Dress Down Passes, No Homework Passes, and free snacks and MORE. Families who raise more than $125 qualify for a Grand Prize raffle drawing. Grand Prizes include a $570 Tuition Credit for 2026/27 school year, $100 Gift Card of your choice, and a free week of hot lunch. If we reach our goal of $22,000, we will have a Free Dress Down Day and a Free Snack Day for the school.
